Poetry workshop at Buckingham Palace now FULLY BOOKED

You responded in your masses to our offer of a free poetry writing workshop with Joelle Taylor at the Queen’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace. We were fully booked- we extended the numbers- and were promptly fully booked again. We like your enthusiasm, young writers.

I’m afraid every last place has now been snapped up for that session on Saturday 18th August, but if you’re wanting to be kept informed of other activities coming up do subscribe to the Young Poet’s Network. It’s a resource for young writers and not only has useful listings of competitions and other activities but also a steady stream of writing prompts and challenges to keep your pen on the page. You can also ‘like’ it on Facebook. Do so!

While we have you, it also feels like a good moment to send our best wishes to all our lovely SLAMbassadors who have been picking up exam results over the summer. We’re thinking of you- well done for surviving weeks of hunching over books and frantic rehearsals of chemical compounds, King Lear and integers. Enjoy the rest of your summer and remember to check out poetry gigs- we’ve had SLAMbassadors stars already popping up at festivals such as Larmer Tree (the inimitable Megan Beech for one) so don’t miss ’em.
