Oh. Yes.
SLAMbassadors UK has cleared its throat and is now ready to hit the road once more (although no one’s quite sure what the road has done) and is beyond delighted to announce that the first stop will be in the unchartered wilds and untrod territories of Buckinghamshire. Well, perhaps not completely unchartered and unmapped. In fact, this is set to be the third year of a Buckinghamshire County Council and SLAMbassador UK partnership.
Previous years in this vast and talented county have given us three winners in the national team: Lily in 2010, Renne in 2011 and Emily Anne 2011 . Highly Commended from the area have included the stunning Ru and Sharda and Nefeesa.
We will be hosting Masterclasses in a whopping 11 schools in the area this year.
So. If you live in Buckinghamshire and attend one of these secondary schools get set for a spoken word slam down! If you are not selected to take part in the 2-day workshops but would still like to enter, go to the Enter section of this site. And I’m always happy to speak to young talent in the corridors and advise you on how to develop your work and careers.

Eleven secondary school in one area is obviously a large number, although we have had even higher numbers in previous years. If you would like to find out how we did it and what you can do to make SLAMbassadors work in your school or local area, then contact me, Joelle Taylor, via jtaylor@poetrysociety.org.uk. For more information about what we offer the school body please go to the Teachers area of the website.
