SLAM in Angell Town

Over the Easter holidays the SLAMbassadors team took our spoken word project to South London and held a masterclass for local young poets at Brixton Recording Studio in Angell Town. Our young poets worked with SLAM maestro Joelle Taylor to produce new work which we captured in the series of videos, made by local film maker Hayley Reid, below. Studio support was provided by Elijah Kerr and Sammy SoSo from Brixton Recording Studios and we also welcomed Caleb Femi, who spent his last day as Young People’s Laureate for London talking poetry and taking portraits of our superstars, which you can see below. Scroll down for the film poems – you can also watch them on The Poetry Society’s YouTube channel.
